LEAP's Impact

Over 1,500 people with disabilities work with LEAP each year to live independently and participate in a thriving community.LEAP works with individuals with disabilities as they achieve economic self-sufficiency and live as independently they choose to live. Knowing that most people thrive best together, LEAP also provides opportunities for peer support, socialization and friendship, and collective advocacy.

About LEAP

Linking Employment, Abilities, and Potential (LEAP) is a Center for Independent Living (CIL). A Center for Independent Living is a community-based, consumer-controlled, cross-disability, non-residential, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports individuals with disabilities to live independent, fulfilled lives. These organizations were established as part of the Independent Living Movement, later earning protections and funding from the federal government under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

As a Center for Independent Living, LEAP serves as a one-stop resource for individuals with disabilities across various counties in Northeast Ohio, offering a range of programs and services.
